1. Check access before creating a key

Before you start: You need your own Binance.com account. If you do not have one, create it directly with the exchange and complete its required verification and account checks before creating an API key. SharkRule does not create an exchange account for you.

You can try a SharkRule simulation without an exchange account.

Sign in to SharkRule and choose Connect Binance in your dashboard. If Connection not ready yet appears or no server IP is shown, wait before creating or entering credentials. Check Binance’s requirements for your account and location. Use only the server IP displayed in your signed-in connection page.

2. Create your key on desktop or phone

In Binance.com, open your account menu, API Management, then Create API. Choose a system-generated HMAC key and give it a name such as SharkRule. Complete Binance’s account and security checks.

On the Binance app, use Pro mode and look under More, then Other, for API Management. If this menu is unavailable, use the official website in your phone browser or on a computer. Return to the same SharkRule connection form afterward.

This connector takes an API key and API secret. RSA or Ed25519 key pairs, a Binance.US key, and a Spot Testnet key do not fit this connection. Binance may show the secret only at creation; keep it in secure storage rather than a screenshot or message.

3. Select permissions and restrict access

For Binance, use a dedicated HMAC API key for your own account, restricted to the server IP shown in your signed-in SharkRule connection page. Enable Reading and Spot & Margin Trading; SharkRule uses the latter for Spot orders only. Keep withdrawals, Internal Transfer, Universal Transfer, margin borrowing and all derivatives permissions disabled. Confirm that withdrawals and transfers are disabled before saving or replacing the key. Enter the key and secret only in the authenticated connection form, never in email or support messages. Connecting an account does not authorize trading or moving funds.

Keep Futures, Options, margin borrowing, withdrawals, Internal Transfer and Universal Transfer disabled. SharkRule does not need these permissions for Spot automation. Confirm the API safety checkbox in the connection form after checking your key’s actual settings in Binance.

4. Connect, review, then start

SharkRule provides Spot automation using your own exchange account and API key. Binance.com Spot strategies can buy and sell repeatedly under the conditions, budget and limits you approve. Only Spot strategies are offered. Availability depends on the connected exchange’s geographic and account restrictions. Binance.US, leverage and margin borrowing are not supported. Existing account records and unresolved recovery obligations remain protected; a product change does not clear them.

  1. Return to the signed-in Binance connection form. Enter the API key and secret there; never send them by chat, email or screenshot.
  2. Check and connect Binance. The connection checks access and permissions; it does not place an order.
  3. Choose a Spot Shark and review its market, budget, conditions, entry and exit rules, fees and limits. You choose and approve the rules; the template is not investment advice.
  4. Approve the real-money Spot strategy review only when the rules and limits match your instructions. Connecting a key or trying a simulation does not authorize real-money trading.

If the connection does not work

Use a Binance.com HMAC key for your own account and copy both fields completely. A read-only key cannot activate trading. Check account and geographic eligibility with Binance; a public guide does not establish eligibility.

If permissions fail, check the saved server IP and the extra permissions above. Do not enable every permission as a shortcut. If a symbol or minimum-order check fails, review the pair and amount shown by SharkRule.

If the order status is uncertain, open the existing rule and your Binance order history. Do not create a second rule to replace a request whose outcome is still being checked.

Disconnect or replace a key

Pausing stops new entries while existing orders and strategy exits remain managed. Stopping a Spot strategy ends new buys and automatic exits; it does not sell your holdings. Review the final status and connected exchange account before revoking a key, because revocation prevents further management. Sent or completed orders cannot be undone; uncertain results must be reconciled before another action.

To remove exchange access, revoke or delete the dedicated key in Binance API Management. If a key is exposed, revoke it promptly and review account activity. Replacing a key requires another connection review; do not create a duplicate strategy around an unresolved order.

Frequently asked questions

Does connecting start trading?

No. Connecting checks access. Starting a strategy requires a separate review and explicit approval.

Do I need to leave my phone or computer on?

No. Once approved, monitoring runs on SharkRule’s server. Closing your browser does not pause or stop a strategy. Use the controls in its dashboard and review outstanding orders and positions in Binance.
