Check access and account mode first
Hyperliquid is on SharkRule’s roadmap and is not available in the current dashboard. This guide explains the provider’s access and permissions. Wait until your dashboard offers the connection before creating or sharing credentials.
The prepared adapter supports UBTC/USDC Spot on a compatible ordinary account with separate Spot balances. Unified account and portfolio-margin modes are rejected. Hyperliquid’s current interface can default to unified mode, so check the actual account configuration. Do not change collateral arrangements merely to bypass a compatibility error.
Approve a new API wallet on Hyperliquid
- Open https://app.hyperliquid.xyz/API yourself and connect the main wallet that owns the intended Hyperliquid account. On desktop, use your wallet’s supported browser connection. On a phone, use its supported wallet browser or connection flow; check the domain before approving anything.
- Use Hyperliquid’s API-wallet creation or generation control to create a fresh agent for SharkRule. Choose a distinct name so that you can identify and revoke it later. Avoid reusing a key from another bot.
- Review the agent address and approval message in your main wallet. Approve that API wallet for the intended account using Hyperliquid’s own flow. This approval is separate from authorizing a SharkRule trading rule.
- Store the generated agent private key securely. Copy the public address of the funded main account separately. Do not substitute the agent’s address for the account address; doing so can produce empty or incorrect account results.
An agent is broader than a Spot-only key
Hyperliquid delegates trading authority to the agent. It can authorize trading actions beyond the single Spot pair used here; do not treat it as an exchange-enforced Spot-only permission. SharkRule restricts its prepared adapter to UBTC/USDC Spot buys. These application limits do not remove the risk if the agent key is compromised.
Depositing and managing your main wallet remain separate tasks. Keep its signing key private. This setup does not request a recovery phrase, a main-wallet export, builder-fee approval or funding of the agent address.
When the connection becomes available
Your dashboard will show the supported account type, credential fields and server IP when this connection is available. Follow those instructions then. Verifying a connection and approving a trading strategy are separate steps; reading this guide never activates trading.
Check address, approval and balances
If approval fails, confirm that the key belongs to the agent you approved and has not expired or been removed. An unsupported account-mode error needs a compatibility review, not your main private key. Available USDC must be in the compatible Spot balance; a perpetuals balance is not the same thing.
If submission status is uncertain, check Hyperliquid’s order and fill history before creating another rule. Keep the original agent available for reconciliation unless it is compromised.
Remove access at the provider
Review active orders directly at Hyperliquid. Delete the dedicated API key or revoke the API-wallet approval through its official settings to remove that access. Revocation does not sell holdings or undo orders already accepted. If credentials are exposed, revoke promptly and review the account’s activity.
Frequently asked questions
Is the agent key my main wallet key?
No. It is a separate key approved by your main wallet. Never export the main signing key for this connection.
Can I connect unified or portfolio-margin mode?
Not with this prepared adapter. Resolve account compatibility before providing credentials; do not change margin settings blindly.
