Check account and regional compatibility
OKX is on SharkRule’s roadmap and is not available in the current dashboard. This guide explains the provider’s access and permissions. Wait until your dashboard offers the connection before creating or sharing credentials.
The prepared integration uses the global www.okx.com API for cash Spot trading. It does not currently cover the separate EEA or US API hosts, Demo Trading, margin or derivatives. Check which OKX entity serves your account before creating a key. Do not change your region to bypass an eligibility restriction.
Create a dedicated key on desktop
- Sign in at https://www.okx.com and open Profile, then API and connections. The global API management page is https://www.okx.com/account/my-api.
- Choose Create API key, name it SharkRule and select the intended account and API trading purpose. Do not assume SharkRule is an approved linked app.
- Enter the server IP allowlist displayed on your authenticated SharkRule connection page. Do not substitute your phone or home IP. If the page does not provide addresses yet, wait for setup to be enabled.
- Enable Read and Trade only. Leave Withdraw, Transfer, Loan and Earn off wherever those controls appear. If you cannot establish the required permissions, stop and check compatibility rather than broadening access.
- Set a unique API passphrase and complete OKX’s verification. Save it securely with the API key and secret; it is not your account password. OKX cannot recover a forgotten passphrase.
Create the key in the mobile app
In the OKX app, sign in, open Menu, select API and choose Create API key. Apply the same account, permission and IP checks described above. Labels may differ by app version and account region.
If those controls are missing, open the official account page in your browser or finish on a computer. Never send the secret or passphrase to yourself through chat, or include them in screenshots.
Review older keys before reuse
Create a dedicated SharkRule key. OKX’s current FAQ says older Trade-enabled keys gain Transfer, Loan and Earn powers in its update. Inspect the actual settings; do not assume an existing key retains its restrictions.
Read and Trade are required for account checks and orders. Disabling withdrawals does not remove trading risk, and some permission models give Trade broader account powers. If the separate restrictions cannot be confirmed, leave the connection inactive.
When the connection becomes available
Your dashboard will show the supported account type, credential fields and server IP when this connection is available. Follow those instructions then. Verifying a connection and approving a trading strategy are separate steps; reading this guide never activates trading.
Resolve errors without removing restrictions
For a rejected connection, check the passphrase, permissions, allowed IPs and account region. Error 50119 can indicate a regional host mismatch; 50101 can indicate real versus demo credentials. A lost passphrase requires a replacement key. Do not remove IP restrictions as a shortcut.
Report a redacted error and its time if help is needed. Never share the secret, passphrase or verification codes.
Remove access at the provider
Review active orders directly at OKX. Delete the dedicated API key or revoke the API-wallet approval through its official settings to remove that access. Revocation does not sell holdings or undo orders already accepted. If credentials are exposed, revoke promptly and review the account’s activity.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use my OKX Wallet recovery phrase?
No. This connection uses exchange API credentials, never a wallet recovery phrase.
Does a mobile setup change where orders run?
No. SharkRule’s server sends the API requests. Use its authenticated IP instructions, not your mobile network address.
